"Although there are elements of retro in our music, we are not a retro band that wants to repeat 20 years of history,"

'Analogue Voodoo' doesn't fit a preconceived mould. Is it.... electronic punk? Neopop? New wave electro rock'n'roll? It's hard to say.

Moimir Papalescu, as an electronic pioneer and member of the now defunct cult bands Gundreams and Vanessa, combines the dynamics of punk with rock'n'roll rhythms and synthetic electronic sounds in a shamanic way. Avant-garde rocker Hank J. Manchini of the Prague post-punk band Rany tela adds guitar riffs and his dandyish vocals. Saxophone attacks are masterfully performed by Petr Van Krbetz, who has worked with bands like Psí Vojáci and Vltava, legendary guitarist Mike Stern and others. But the main word belongs to the devilishly angelic voice of the singer with the endearing name La Petite Sonja, about whose history not much is known.

The 14-track album sums up the best of what's been recorded since the band's formation in the summer of 2003. The backbone consists mainly of songs that are notorious from MP & The Nihilists' concerts. To name but a few, we can mention the poppy 'Summer Deviation' or 'Perfect Boy', the disco-soaked 'Boys And Girls And Heroes' or 'Life Could Be So Easy' or the romantic ballad 'Everybody Calls Me An Angel'. The cherry on top are the remake of Sunshine's 'Summer Deviation' and the video for the song of the same name.
